A physician, lamenting the influence of “Big Tobacco” on Utah State legislators, points to the failure to put a “big tax” on cigarettes, and thereby, he declares, they failed to save smokers from cancer, not to mention non-smokers who, it is implied, pay the medical bills. (Tobacco is not lethal enough, so the medical bills go on and on.)

All this to get to the point, to the end, point made before for Utah’s special statistic: a high rate of colon cancer compared with other states.

After citing all the costs due to smoking, we learn he is not an oncologist, but a proctologist. Again I wonder, who is blowing that smoke?
