You think your crystal sparkles?
You’ve heard that golden earrings glitter?
You’ve seen the shiny chrome that flashes?

But look
at the wings of the dragonfly.
Wings so gossamer
the breath of the gardener
who finds the creature dead
resurrects the wings; they lift
the lifeless body
from the soil.

What are those wings made of?
Molecules of satin
from lunaria seedpods;
Shimmer of morning dew on the lip
of a rose;
Drops of sun, glinting off moving water;
Starlight, and a flow of moonbeams
and swatches of rainbow

and finished
with the kiss of Life.
